The writer's toolbox: Focused editing

You have a complete draft of your manuscript, which is an accomplishment worthy of celebration! However, the hard work is far from over. Manuscripts often go through several drafts before they are submission-ready — or even ready for peers or professionals to review — and the process of revisiting and editing your words is just as valuable and essential as getting them down on the page in the first place. But where do you start?

Join award-winning author, editor, and creative writing tutor Maame Blue to learn how you can develop your self-editing skills and polish your draft manuscript.

In this practical one-hour workshop, Maame will explore:

Whether this is your first manuscript and you’re new to the self-editing process, or you’re an established writer looking to sharpen your editor’s eye, Maame will teach you the tips and tricks you need to jump into the editing process and navigate this tricky manuscript development process with confidence.

This workshop includes a number of short writing exercises. To get the most out of this workshop, it’s recommended participants come prepared with something they have written.

There will be time for questions from the audience.
