There’s nothing more galvanising than when inspiration strikes, and you come up with an idea for a story which you think has potential. But when you sit down to write and you’re staring at a blank page, it’s all too easy to become overwhelmed by what comes next and lose momentum. This is a common problem for aspiring and established writers alike, and it’s because great stories don’t begin with great ideas; they begin with asking the right questions.
Learn how you can hold onto a simple spark of inspiration and turn it into a strong, workable story premise with author, freelance writer, and mentor Kylie Orr. Kylie’s writing is inspired by the complex stories of everyday people and their secret lives behind closed doors.
In this practical, one-hour workshop, you will explore:
Whether you’re battling writer’s block with a work-in-progress or you have a notebook full of half-formed ideas which you’re not sure what to do with, Kylie will give you the tools you need to transform everyday inspiration into compelling fiction.
There will be time for questions from the audience.
