Have your say: 2025 author and illustrator survey

The ASA has launched our Annual Survey for 2025 and we want to hear from you!

The survey is open to all authors and illustrators, including  ASA members and non-members.

Completing this survey is vital to helping us:

  • Understand your concerns about generative AI and advocate for you.
  • Track important industry trends regarding author income.
  • Monitor the evolving needs of Australian authors and illustrators.

Your survey responses are invaluable. Having your say will inform our advocacy and long-term allocation of resources.

The survey may take between 10-15 minutes of your time. Once you complete the survey, you will receive a password to enter our special prize draw for one of the prizes below. Four winners will be selected across the three prizes. Members and non-members are eligible to enter the giveaway. Winners will be selected after the survey closes on 17 October 2025 at 5:00 pm AEDT.

We encourage you to share the survey with your book industry colleagues and your writing/illustrating community. The more responses we have, the more effectively we can advocate on your behalf. Thank you for completing our survey – we’re so grateful for your time!
