It takes hard work and dedication to seek out appropriate funding opportunities and prepare compelling applications — and the application process can be daunting — but this labour can form the bedrock of a successful career in the literary sector.

In this one-hour workshop, award-winning author Kris Kneen will equip you with the knowledge, tools, and mindset you need to navigate the funding maze. Kris will show you how to remain true to your creative vision while making certain your application stands out. You will learn:

  • Where to find funding opportunities and how to identify which avenues are right for your creative work.
  • How to make sense of and respond to assessment criteria.
  • How to present your book so others will easily understand and get excited about it.
  • How to gather all the required information and materials for an application.
  • What you need to know about rates of pay and inclusions for budgeting.
  • How to avoid common stumbling blocks during the application process.
